Let’s be real about Postpartum ‍♀️

If you’re a brand-new mom who expected to be full of joy at this point, it can be upsetting and confusing when you’re actually feeling the opposite. Rest assured, you’re not alone: Anywhere from 40 to 80 percent of new mothers experience the baby blues – an emotional state of tearfulness, unhappiness, worry, self-doubt, and fatigue.

The baby blues typically begin a few days after delivery and go away on their own within a week or two.

It’s normal to feel mixed emotions after giving birth. You may feel excited, happy or nervous. Moms went through a lot starting from pregnancy and it is important that we give attention to them too. We must make them feel cared and loved even by simple acts of cooking for them.

Communication is very important. Ask how she feels or what she wants. Give her something she’ll like and do something nice for her like doing her nails or hair. Bonding with her makes her cope with post partum pretty well. Make sure she does not feel alone and acknowledge what she is going through.

If you have a friend that is pregnant you can help by giving her information so she can be prepared and gets the support she needs after giving birth.
